    Zooplayer won't play .wmv files!

I have two other players, VLAN and the default Windows Player and they both play these types of files! I only have one codec pack installed, k-lite mega codec pack, the new one. I've tried resetting the settings....reinstalling it, nothing will work! I would give it up if I didn't prefer it over the other media players I have.

What happens when you uninstall the K-lite Codec Pack?

Kleenr, thanks for correcting me, yes, Zoom Player. When I installed the K-Lite codec pack CPUGenius, I checkmarked all the codecs I would possibly need and it installed without any problems. I went to Windows' Website and downloaded a codec pack specifically for WMV and still have the same problem I had without it, every player but Zoomplayer plays them darned files!

There is more than one version of ZoomPlayer:

    ZoomPlayer Standard
    ZoomPlayer Professional
    ZoomPlayer WMV Professional

In order to play .wmv you need the third one listed.

Or stop messing around with ZoomPlayer and try Winamp, the very best media player for Windows, ever. www.winamp.com

I was wondering what the difference was this morning.I was having problems with the 4.10pro beta. It didn't like to display in full screen mode so I went back to 4.03.I love that player. As awesome as it is I think that jetaudio is a little better. It plays absolutely everything, even stuff that none of the other however many players I have will open.I started playing with BSplayer today for the first time in a long time.

i think zoom uses it's own codecs, and not external system codecs, thats why installing a codec pack didn't help with zoom.
i am one of the biggest winamp fanboys but i wouldn't recommend it for your default video player, VLC, IrfanView, Mplayer2 and MPC are much better (imnsho)

    Doh!

Ha ha, Kleenr, you officially made me feel like a retard, it was the wrong type of player, I had the standard one installed. Thanks everyone else in giving out your opinion on the best player, etc. I'll try the .wmv support one. God, I feel like an imbicile!
