the downhillbattle gaim filesharing plugin has raised 1500 Dollars for a developer to code.

Gaim is in c++ and not so interesting, because a second generation filesharing added - like g2 protocol or emule - does not make sense.
any buddy can be as well an evil node.
So the claim is, that www.jetiants.tk is the same only in java
and much better, because there all transfers are proxied.
Why is downhillbattle and jeti and ants not joining together?
What is needed:
First of all a gui, that looks like GAIM and like EMULE together.
Who can do it ? jeti has no idea of ants, and ants developer has no idea of IMs. They are not a perfect team, So i think we need a THIRD java gui developer, which can stick both together.
The open question is only, if DC-Ants is made hybrid with jmule.sf.net before or not.
Ok, Downhillbatte has to decide these questions and needs a java gui developer.
Donīt know why the Ants developer is not getting half the money for a new gui and the jeti developer half for a direct file transfer option out of the ants library.
But what is needed is a request for ants developer:
1. We need the option to send out of the shared library-tab a file hash (ed2k and ants) to a buddy out of the jeti buddy list. So the online buddies from jeti have to be replicated inthe library right mouesclick contxt meneu with the command, send ed2k hash or ents hashto the buddy xy.
2. Jeti buddies should be able to browse each other the shared files directories or the library.
3. Jeti buddies should be able to make a direct conenction to download and send files to buddies or from/to the shared directory.
4. it could be as well made this way, that the file transfer amoung buddies is not made with direct connections, but over ants protocol. this means to send only the ants link over the messenger to the buddy. This is not so effective than direct connections. but an option, though option 3 is better.
So the features 1-3 should be made as an option to integrate jeti and ants features a little bit better.
If then a new gui is made, we have this gaim filesharing plugin downhillbattle wants.
Does anyone know a java gui developer ?
Gwren needs to make the ants library first, currently the ants networking is tied to much to the gui to easily make a new gui
ok thanks, gwren is leaving in 10 days, so .. time to get searches fixed and seperate the gui,
is it then possible to have the buddies in a context menue of the library so to send files directly ß
can you do this job? interested in getting the money from downhillbattle ? Have you announced there ?
Just cos Gwren is leaving does not mean he will stop development. They do have computers and the Internet in the Republic of Ireland. Plus it rains a lot there so he won't be wasting his time sunning himself.
