New to P2P , Some Help

Hello,
I am new to the world of P2P and if it is possible I am requesting that one of the you please write a guide to downloading things. Including, Music, Movies, Documents, Games, etc.. I would really appreciate this as this would be a great help!

Please include:

1. What are torrents, what are they used for, how do they work, do they need software?
2. no warez.
3. Sites / P2P software without paying or spyware/trojans/viruses.
4. How fast I will get on this software (I have a T1 1.1mbps)
5. Info on how to use this.
6. MAINLY MOVIES AND GAMES PLEASE!!!
