    DOOM 3 Invades Macintosh

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 14, 2005--Macintosh owners prepare -- your DOOM has come. Aspyr Media, Inc. announced today that id Software's critically acclaimed blockbuster hit, DOOM 3(TM) for Macintosh is charging onto retail shelves everywhere by March 19, 2005. The Associated Press has called DOOM 3, "One of the scariest games ever made." Computer Gaming World and Maxim both awarded DOOM 3 their highest rating, "Five out of Five Stars," and TIME magazine says DOOM 3 is "too lifelike for comfort." The game quickly became the fastest selling PC action shooter in the U.S., according to NPD Techworld, and has now been developed for Macintosh by id Software and Aspyr Studios.

"DOOM 3 has instantly become a must have title for any game fan, and now Macintosh owners can experience the unmatched atmosphere and edge-of-your-seat gameplay that critics and gamers have been raving about," said Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software. "DOOM 3's intense combat, realistic sound and physics, and unbelievably terrifying creatures draw you into the gaming experience like never before, and our bleeding-edge technology is the perfect showpiece for the power of today's Macintosh systems."

The ruins of an ancient Martian civilization have unlocked the secrets to teleportation and the Union Aerospace Corporation will stop at nothing to harness this world-altering technology. As part of a Marine detachment sent to protect the facility, your duty seemed simple enough -- until the invasion. Now, a massive demonic invasion has overwhelmed the UAC. In an epic clash against pure evil, you must fight to understand who is with you, who is against you, and what must be done to stop this nightmare from reaching Earth.

Hey nothing wrong with that I am glad that someone is actually making something for the mac platform the more competition in the market the more fairly priced the market will be...

But I will tell you imho apple is over priced already hrmmm... well either way apple could use the support from software companies and so forth as it hardly has much of nothing in comparison to the microsoft market.

I'd really like to see some more linux support as well though theres a lot out there for linux there is still some driver issues with hardware devices and such.

And I'd like to see more right click intergration as well as shortcuts intergrated better into linux GUI's...
