Toy Story 3 without Pixar

According to many websites, Disney is moving ahead with making "Toy Story 3" without Pixar (The original makers of Toy Story & Toy story 2).

What do you think about this development? Should Disney make Toy Story 3 without Pixar?

i actually thought toy story was made by disney till i saw the pixar on the movie but nevermind lol

Disney distributed it for PIXAR - they had a deal with each other.

I have heard this rattling around for a while. Disney just wants to whore their properties to make money. I think it is a bad idea. The people at PIXAR have love for what they produce. They make films that the story comes first, the vision second. Disney would love for a few quick million, not thinking of the manner in which they will tarnish the memories of the first two films.

HORRIBLE choice on Disney's behalf. Damnit. Pixar should have the rights anyway, damnit. It will suck if disney does it. they don't put even 1/4th the work into their movies as Pixar does. really. damn, what a disappointment.

Disney has really kicked the bucket, their movies dont hold the charm they used to. Even brother bear which was a well done movie didnt compare to those of the past. It seems disney is on a downward spiral.

If there was a toy story 3, and could be. PIXAr would of written it and gotten to work on it. Disney is making it for sake of making money. I wish PIXAR owned the rights to it and not let disney go ahead.

I'd say.. sweet, maybe Pixar can make something a little more adult oriented... but look at how Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (a revolutionary film, really) performed at the box office... Square animation closed down and adult themed animation was doomed in the US.

Pixar's great though.. I have always enjoyed their stuff and a lot of the humor in their movies goes over the heads of the kiddies.

Well, the only reason Disney is doing this movie is, because Pixar decided not to renew its contract with Disney, so Pixar has sold all the Toy Story properties and rights to the movies to Disney.
