Kratom is a tree native to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, and elsewhere). Its botanical name is Mitragyna speciosa. Kratom is in the same family as the coffee tree (Rubiaceae). The leaves of kratom have been used as an herbal drug from time immemorial by peoples of Southeast Asia. It is used as a stimulant (in low doses), sedative (in high doses), recreational drug, pain killer, medicine for diarrhea, and treatment for opiate addiction.

This is by no far chance new, this stuff has been around a long time.

The few people I've read about that have taken it said it increases their ability to focus and gives them a little extra energy. There are some other stories and a lot more information about it here: http://www.erowid.org/plants/kratom/kratom.shtml

Yes, I Know the kratom. Kratom is well known around the world for its numerous health benefits. Kratom is known as Mitragyna speciosa. It is identified as a medicinal leaf extract derived from a tree that is a member of the Rubiaceae family. In botanical terms, it is related to the Corynanthe, Cinchona and Uncaria genera that also includes the coffee tree in the same grouping. The leaves of the kratom are a very glossy, dark green color, which can be distilled into a thick extract for medical treatments.

Why would a newb respond to a six year old post? Then respond with a statement taken from another posting author without giving credit to such?

Better read the rules regarding plagiarism and not giving due credit to the original author sir/mama.

Katrom is not "a new idea" at all. It's only new to you. It has so many disadvantages that no one here (I'm sure) would ever recommend it. It's considered a drug, plain and simple.
