Kratom is a tree native to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, and elsewhere). Its botanical name is Mitragyna speciosa. Kratom is in the same family as the coffee tree (Rubiaceae). The leaves of kratom have been used as an herbal drug from time immemorial by peoples of Southeast Asia. It is used as a stimulant (in low doses), sedative (in high doses), recreational drug, pain killer, medicine for diarrhea, and treatment for opiate addiction.

This is by no far chance new, this stuff has been around a long time.

Katrom is not "a new idea" at all. It's only new to you. It has so many disadvantages that no one here (I'm sure) would ever recommend it. It's considered a drug,plain and simple.
