I try to keep them if for nothing else, the scene selection, cJ.
With DVD rebuilder+CCE it's usually not an issue... other than the time it takes to do all the passes. Though the "1 pass VBR w/analysis" option takes about the same time as DVD Shrink w/analysis and error compensation, with much better results.

About the only time I may use Shrink is to remove unwanted audio. That's it.

eh great point about the scene selection
i recently read on another site that they have a tool to reauthor the menus and compress them big time.
for example the menus were 1865 *serious* and after using this tool it recompress the menu to like 9 mbs.
once i get the link i post back
but thanks for the head up on that
i am ditzy or duh sometimes

lol I've backed up quite a few of my dvd's as well from my collection still have lots to go...

Conversion to divx without any menus is suitable for my needs.

If I can keep the menus,I do,but if It means the main movie will suffer in terms of quality then I'll leave the menus out.
