I have restarted mute and have set the minimum conections to 75 and the max to 200. I also ask all of you to restart your mutte nodes. I think that i should be able to connect to every single one of you and in effect form a one hop proxy for the whole network.

This may work because i fine with 8 connections i was using less then 15 % of my cpu and less then 20% of my total up bandwidth capability.

So lets try this and see what happens.

after you restart, search and download. try to obseve the speed.

    here's my initial results:

    mute mfc 3/4/05 version
    uptime 11 hrs 55 minuts
    33,497 chunks uploaded
    19 peer connection
cpu avg under 15% 2.6 ghz

total mem is 1 gb mute using 8 mb in taskmanager. there may be a hole becase at least 300 mb is not accounted fore. not running any other programs. not sure about why i have only 500 mb available out of 1 gb

total upload speed used is avg 400 kbits out of max posile 864 kbits. so not all being used

downloads seem very slow. all about 400 B/s. this is slow considering i should have a 1 or 2 hop connection with everyone.

i invite ananlysis on this data

    note: 1 chunk = 16,384 bytes

    here's my stats:

    up 22 hrs 55 minutes
    56,212 chunks uploaded
16 connections currntly. the most i have seen is 19
cpu under 15% , mem 12 mb. memory seems to have returned to normal 705 mb total now available, so what ever hole i had has closed.

the max upload speed i have seen is 550 kbits out of a posible 864 kbits. This i have measured externaly with a bandwidth meter . This number represents own file uploads plus all proxied data and messeges.

I have been getting very good upload rates ( 8 to 12 kB/s) by setting the number of connctions 10 to 15. You need a fast broadband connection to do this but if half the network did this mute would be very fast.
