    What the Heck?? HH.exe??? hhctrl.ocx ???

I'm running Xp.Got up this morning to defrag hd. I got an error message:

    ScanFat:Scan aborted-Fatal error-
    File:\\?\C:\Windows\prefetch\HH.exe-2D1A70b3.pf

    Hhhhmmmmmm...
So, I ran Microsoft Antispyware, Spybot, PestPatrol, AVG, ScriptDefender, SpySweep...Nothing.

I tried to open my music program FruityLoops...got this:

    FL.exe-Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\Windows\system32\hhctrl.ocx is not a valid image. Please check this against your installation disk.

So, I went to prefetch and tried to open "HH.EXE-2D1A70B3.pf" and got this:

Cannot open the "C:\Windows\prefetch\HH.EXE-2D1A70B3.pf" file. Make sure a disk is in the drive you specified."

"The file or directory "C:\Windows\prefetch\HH.EXE-2D1A70B3.pf" is corrupt & unreadable.
    Please run chkdsk."

I ran checkdisk....found a few errors and corrected them.

Went back to the defragger and it goes right back to the same problem.

I googled "HH.EXE" and "hhctrl.ocx " and really didn't come up with a proper solution.

    Any inputs???

    Thanks in advanced.

BTW...I used FruityLoops last night...no problems.
I also defragged Friday morning...no problems.

    Again, thanks in advanced. :gj

Wow sounds like your having some issues with your PC if I recall right there was some big exploitation with windows help files as far as whats happing it seems that your windows help for some odd reason is not there and is not loading when called .pf = a prefetch file which basically starts this program...

Did you possibly delete some files that where shared or might be used when uninstalling the program?

How bout trying to run a system restore to restore your PC to a date before this happend.
