Are you using a router? If so you have to forward the ports.

does your internet go via a router?

Is your ADSL modem a router? (Some brands run in router mode even though there can be only one computer connected)

Do a tracert to google and see what the first couple of IPs are...

Try slapping your IP in the DMZ and running a software firewall if that solves the problem there is something to do with port fwding on your router or modem with built in router.

I still get High ID using WinXP! Try using IP Filter to block bad IPs & have some popular files for uploads. Leave your eMule running 24/7 for a while! If you are on dial-up connection, think about upgrading to broadband connection.

    Hi Dave.

I'm a kiwi too with xtra jetstream. I only just got rid of my lowid yesterday (results aren't as i expected though). What you need to do is what the second guy suggested, port forward.

Just select your router (DLink 302g?) from this page and follow the guide (last paragraph especially).

    Good luck.

Some of the problem may be due to the release of edonkey light there is no bandwidth throttles and people are getting leech like queue's without sharing nothing ... This may be causing some of the issue with high ID's I have saw lately.

Thanks so much for this. The PortForward site is step-by-step perfect. I have had a Low ID forever while using a D-Link DI 524 router and this link has successfully upgraded me to High ID - and I'm loving the difference!!

    Thanks again for the info.
    Conor.
