    Thumbs up Impressed

So far to date I have tried SO MANY p2p programs, just off my head:

    1. Azureus
    2. Bearshare
    3. Limewire
    4. eMule
    5. eDonkey 2000
    6. Shareaza
    7. WinMX
    8. Kazaa (don't get me started scum
    9. Kazaa Lite
    10. Kazaa Lite Resurection
    11. Bittorrent

pretty much any windows p2p on zeropaid I have tried, so many that I just can't count them all

    1. Ties with Limewire, really well done
    2. Adware ridden, scam popup at start of program (still have loan companys calling and didn't get sh$!), Misleading exit screens, just scammy all around
    4. Can I have those files, say sometime next month?
    5. Spyware ridden and outdated
    6. Everything is fine about this program except you get crippled performance from each network and slow if any speeds...so it really isn't any good at its main purpose.
    7. Queues were WAY to long, downloads were WAY to slow, interface was really jumbled...D-, would be F if it had any bundled software..
    8. Can I have some p2p with my spyware please? Non-existant download speeds, fake files galore, and lets not forget the mp3s with screeches through the middle ouch!
    9. Pretty good if it didn't connect to a network with so many fakes and slow speeds...though the speeds were slightly better than Kazaa they still sucked
    10. Too much everything, though it may have been "clean" the anti-spy software that came with this program was excessive, and the program has the same problem as all other fasttrack clients, very slow download speeds and lots of fakes. It also had a can I get in trouble for using this ...questionable feel
    11. Good overall, but lacked features and configurability

    And finally Limewire:

Limewire is -ware free. No tricky popups, no misleading prompts, just pure p2p. This program is so feature rich it's scarry. It has a very tuned interface and overall was very good. The download speeds were nice, though not as good as Bearshare it made up for it in lack of scammy ora. Of all the true p2p programs out there I rate this program at an A+. I haven't found anything as of yet to gripe about. The only iffy thing I have to say is the interface is slightly slow, but that is because it is written in Java and Java is a very slow program. I don't quite understand why the programmers decided to do this but hey they made one nice p2p program. This program really tops my recommendation list. Of all the file sharing programs I have tried this is the best. Thankyou everyone who contributed to Limewire! :gj

Btw I wasn't firewalled in any way when running any of these programs, I am very knowledgeable about Port Forwarding and NATs

Limewire use to have adware in it. It says the 4.0 version doesn't have any, but I've not tried it to argue. My brother did and he had lots of crap on his computer, but I can't say it was from Limewire or not. When it comes to Limewire (which runs on the Gnutella network) it'd be just as easy to use Gnucleus. It's for sure free from adware and is free period.

I really feel so sorry for you in saying Bit Torrent has no real features. How many Bit Torrent programs are out there. You said you tried it, yet didnt say which one. You can configure it for so many things and find one that you like.

What I want to know (and a brief search on google would probably tell me) if there is a adware free Bearshare client available for free download.

You used to be able to download a beta of the program that you could use for free for a few weeks at a time. No clue anymore.

    Bittorent

The program Bittorrent is the p2p software I was referring to, not the network of torrents. There are several torrent clients out there, and many are really good. I like Azureus because it has such a configurable and comprehensive interface. The program Bittorrent doesn't. You click the installer, you click a torrent file, you choose where to save and you get a bar and a few stats. Since Bittorrent has such a watered down look and feel I didn't feel the need to keep it around. I'm not saying anything bad about Torrents or the torrent network, just the client Bittorrent.

I am saying though to STAY AWAY FROM FASTRACK!

BitTorrent is the name of the protocol, not any specific software.

If you are reffering to the client from bittorrent.comBitTorrent is the name of the protocol, not any specific software. Software programs which are used to download files using the BitTorrent protocol are called BitTorrent clients.

If you are referring to the client from bittorrent.com, that is sometimes called the generic client, or the original.

You are mistaken to call the original client “BitTorrent” and everything else by a different name.
I'm not really malicious. I'm a nice guy.
