I think part.met files were damaged. thx emule. emule is the program nr. 1, which can make a big harmfull for the user. for example: emule can delete a few GB of downloaded files without your agreement. its just cool. I think I will have to start download movies from 0% again. I love it.

Why not try bit torrent? Much faster and usually you can get the whole movie in a few hours with a good cable modem connection.

I forgot you don't have 24/7 Internet so I could see why it would take so long. Is there not anything else out there besides emule that would fit your needs? I know I would be pissed off if I lost downloads because of a poor client.

Just wondering, you didn't happen to go into your temp folder and preview some of those videos did you? Messing with these files can cause you to lose movies. It has happened to me.

For old movies you might want to try Winmx and find a movie chatroom, there are several groups involved with older movies. BT is just not good for old movies.

with emulemorphXT you could import the old damaged part files into newly started downloads of the same files and merge the completed parts you already downloaded into the new downloads.

    or use MetMedic

eMule is not really designed for dial-up users, use eDonkey/Overnet client instead!

Filesharing isn't dial up friendly anymore in general but Emule really doesn't seem like it would be 56k friendly. I remember downloading my first movie when I had dial up. It took me a week straight of 24/7 downloading. I think BT is your best bet.

But like I said before, winmx is good for movies. Cult classics, horror, sci-fi, westerns are popular with the movie buffs. I can't recommend enough the use of the movie chat rooms to find the good stuff you can't find elsewhere. There are some good ripping groups to be found in these rooms. You just got to bring some with you to get some. Once you get to be friends with the people there, you can just ask for movies and they will start you up.

Ahhhh, that is very bad. See, it wasn't emules fault.

    The thread should read -

    Donkey Doctor might also help.

why don't you use the edonkey/overnet hybrid... I don't know if that is still out there but you should look for it! Just a suggestion!
