did you open ports on your router?

I think for default you need to open 411-413 TCP/UDP? I'm not at home so I can't check my setup.
Or you can change to different ports in the settings and then open up those instead on your router.
nope, in DC++ you need to specify a port number along with your external IP address in the settings, then forward that port (both TCP and UDP) to your computer.

@cpu: Is that only for braodband users? What if I don't have a router? Does it still apply?
In older versions, I thought there was just a default port, like other apps (ie 6881 for BT)... I guess this has changed for the newer releases....Originally Posted by cpugeniusmv

Yeh, that works, except you wont be able to connect to any other "passive" users.Originally Posted by ModestasM

AMD 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
Windows Vista (Ultimate 32bit)

EVGA GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB
Creative X-FI Fatal1ty XtremeGamer
Also sporting a black MacBook
Revision/Release 1
Upgraded to 2GB RAM.
@Fowler: you only need to set IP/port settings if you're behind a router...dialup users, or broadband users without a router are uneffected.
and modestas, you can set whatever port you like in the Port textbox...then forward that one (both TCP/UDP) to your computer. active connections are better than passive connections...hawkburn told you why :)
