Dave Mustaine, via his official website Megadeth.com, has posted a New Year’s greeting with the forthcoming plans for Megadeth. He and his band plan to tour Europe, possibly Japan and Australia, with a “victory lap” around the US. He’s is calling 2005, Megadeth’s 20th anniversary, the last year for the band…
Here’s the posting straight from Mr. Mustaine:
“Droogies!
“While 2005 brought much suffering and sadness to many people at its end, I hope for most of us here that were separated from such tragedy, that you had a terrific 2004.

I think he's on crack again. 2005 hasn't quite ended yet.
Don't let the door hit your ass, Dave.
Be a shame for me if they disbanded. One less thrash metal band to listen to that still produces thrash, unlike that other band whose name begins with M :p

Ahhh Dave dont you know you were washed out years ago....should just let it go now......

I've always favored Megadeth over Metallica. "Rust in Peace" is, IMO, the best Metal album of all time.
I'm sad to hear of this news.
Honestly man Rust in peace and countdown to extinction are two of the best albums in heavy metal but Megadeth ran out of steam along time ago.Originally Posted by Spinecast

Perhaps, but at least they stayed true to who they are. They never released an album as bad as Saint Anger.Originally Posted by moneoa

While on break from touring, Dave Mustaine suffered a serious injury in January 2002 while staying in Texas. He was diagnosed with having radial neuropathy shortly thereafter, a condition that prevented him from playing guitar. The compressed radial nerves in his left arm and hand were strained, leaving Megadeth little recourse but to disband in April 2002, after almost 20 years in the music industry.
I just sorry to say this but there isn''t going to be another Megadeth CD release.

At this time. it pretty much only boils down to Mustaine. Ellefson is off doing F5 and the rest were just a mish-mosh of collaberators. Nothing will beat the lineup with Friedman and Menza.
I've been with this band since about '86. I will be saddened the day it is announced that Megadeth is no more.
I truly hope it was not because the system had failed.

Having just listened to the remaster of Cryptic Writings, it is another remaster that pisses me off. I always thought to remaster was to rework the sound for clarity not rewrite the album like dave did with this. Sure the remaster is sonically better but it is no longer the original material. When you speed shit up and slow shit down and remove shit entirely then it ain't what it was. FUCK.

Yeah I heard about the his arm but with talks of doing something afterwards just gets confusing. You wonder are they going to back for a few albums or just tours or....etc
