    LokiTorrent Hits $30,000 Mark

    Source: P2PForums.com

Over the past few months, we've been watching the demise of several large file sharing sites, specifically those relating to eDonkey2000 and BitTorrent. Most of the sites, including the biggest site of them all, SuprNova, complied with the cease and desist issued to them from the MPAA.

Throughout all of these closures, LokiTorrent has been in the background, serving its select community. However, since the closure of the bigger torrent sites and trackers, it has gained heavily in popularity. LokiTorrent, along with all the others did receive a cease and desist letter. Instead of following the lead of many of the other sites, they instead decided to fight it.

The MPAA has officially sued LokiTorrent for it's non-compliance, and is now in need of legal funds. To support the legal fight, they need at least $30,000 a month. This goal seemed hard to hit weeks ago, but has since then been met. Now we as a community have to keep helping as much as possible to keep that goal up.

If you are interested further in the legal battle, feel free to visit LokiTorrent. They will need far more money then that given to continue this lawsuit, which is anticipated to continue for a long time.

This sounds pessimistic, but happens if the folks at Loki Torrents takes the money and run?

$30,000 will get a nice tropical island.

Jelsoft: keep up with the news - Lowkee is not going to take this money anywhere but to his lawyers.

He WILL fight the MPAA - there have been a couple of interviews and he's been quoted in other articles as saying he definitely will fight this in court.

There's no reason to believe otherwise, and we could all contact him directly, since his name actually appears when you look up LokiTorrent.com on Whois.

At this point, he could get in further legal problems if he ran away with that money.
