Thumbs down Lokitorrent.com, Suprnova's sister site, sued by MPAA

there is no article about this, but on Loki Torrent's hompage (http://www.lokitorrent.com/), it states:

"(12/28 UPDATE!) LokiTorrent is officially being sued by the MPAA! If you've ever benefitted from bittorrent or this site, now is the time to show your support..."

"Once upon a time, there was a beautiful program called Napster. Napster was a very good program--it stole from the rich and gave to the poor. Sadly, when Napster was planning to marry a thing called "freedom of speech and privacy", its mommie died. When its mommie died, his daddie re-married an evil thing, called the RIAA. Then one day, the RIAA got pregnant. Since the RIAA was poor and could not afford a doctor, it hired another thing called "the supreme court" to assasinate Napster so that people would have to pay the RIAA. The RIAA suceeded, but ever since, the RIAA has been getting partial-birth abortions by a doctor called the "Federal Government". Two of the babies aborted were AudioGalaxy and Aimster. But sadly, that wasnt the end of it. Since the RIAA had taken fertility pills, there are other babies that are about to be born. All of them are waiting to be aborted. These include: KaZaA, gnutella, edonkey, blubster..."

looks like there ganna fight it tho :D

all the other sites, or there hosts, took their shit offline as soon as the mpaa starting whining for its money. and remember, they don't host any illegal material on their servers. just torrent files, which are harmless on their own ;)

    Cool

Lokitorrent isn't going to give up to the MPAA bastards without a fight and is currently encouraging all members and supporters to contribute to its defence fund. It is seeking to raise a total of $30,000.00 for the legal defence fund and is currently at 47 % of its target.
This is without a doubt an excellent site for bittorrents and I strongly encourage all zeropaid members who make use of the bittorrent program to make a financial contribution to lokitorrent . Come on everyone , those MPAA and RIAA dinks have been given free rein for far too long . Do you want things to go back to the way they were ? DON'T LET THESE ASSHOLES WIN !!!! TELL THEM WHERE THEY CAN STICK THEIR CURRENT CAMPAIGN !! :fire

I am considering donating but I'm just afraid that their going to get $30000 and just leave. I think I'll just donate to EFF for now.

I agree with the previous member...30k ain't going to be enough
I'll be happy to donate once I see them fighting it out in court, and not until then. Yes there going to need alot more then 30,000 unless there lawyer/s have agreed to work pro bono........The only chance bittorent has is the development of decentralization such as the exeem project.......stay tuned because a major announcement is due anyday from suprnovas developers..............

711 also offers prepaid creditcards all you have to do is lie about your age. These prepaid creditcards are great if you want to anonymously buy a service(cough, cough)

Heck you can visit your local RATSHACK to get one of the prepaid jobs as well and if you wish you can use a false identity and remain annoymous about it as well if you wish to donate.

Me I currently dont have the funds to contribute after XMAS and such or I would difinately consider.

I hope all those who fight the MPAA/RIAA prevail an a strong way and will put the control of laws in regualations back into the peoples hands not the coperations.

Good luck in the fight !!!
