A DRM-Less Online Music Store?

I came across this and thought it was quite interesting.

Apparantly a new Online music Store known as Mindawn is offering music downloads in ogg vorbis or Lossless FLAC files without DRM

The companies view on DRM:

"Essentially [DRM] is a means of stopping the user from listening to their purchased music in any way they see fit, By contrast, for private users, Mindawn does not restrict the use of music files purchased from its service. Users may copy them to any number of devices and convert them to other formats as they wish."

I liked the way this music Service worked, in a world of crappy lossly DRM'ed formats its nice to see that some people are using their heads.

As such this is so far the only Online Music Service that i would consider using, if only their music collection was a bit biggger (well, they are new).

What do you people think? I for one would not mind paying for a download if i get it Lossless and with no stupid restrictions.

Does anyone else know of any online music stores that offer similar stuff (i.e. no/little DRM)?

Kinda makes me wonder if 5 bux goes a long way hard to believe the RIAA would all liscencing in that manner considering the current new shops set up selling on a per computer basis...

DRM blows its like saying you own your house key and your home but you may not make copies of it for someone to use or hold onto it for you incase it is lost ruined or someone else needs to have access only one key could be made.

Very stupid concept I am supprised people even pay for or support this concept.
DRM is foolish.

I'm sure the RIAA does not condone allofmp3.com. However, allofmp3 is based in russia (if im not mistaken) where copywright laws are very lax, resulting in the legality of allofmp3. The legality theoretically only extends to those in russia, however. If you download from allofmp3 outside of russia, you are probably subject to your country's copywright laws. But since allofmp3 is just out there on the net, and no one (save for the russian govt) can make allofmp3 produce a list of those who have downloaded, the likelyhood of someone getting in trouble for downloading via allofmp3 is nonexistant (as of now, anyway). Its very much like just downloading from P2P apps and not sharing - you aren't too likely to get in trouble, but with allofmp3, you're probably a little less likely.

Damn, they have jack shit on that service. Damn. At .99 or 1.24 a song, might as well go the a "Legal" service like itunes, buymusic, etc and get a legal copy.

Try weblisten, they have a deal called "Bononight" where you get 8 hours to get all that you want. Good quality too I might add.

I scored an obscure Scooter remix off of Allofmp3.

They should be around for a while. The Russian govt. has had thier hands full with crushing Yukos.

Those corrupt bastards wont be touching allofmp3 anytime soon.

you don't have to worry on allofmp3.its legal in europe!why ...well there is a spanish online shop claled www.weblisten.com with the same feature and prices.i think allofmp3 is alot better because prices a re very very cheap(0,2 cent per MB)....this realy a great store

I've priced a few things out on allofmp3, just to see what the fuss was about.. and I have to say if I were to pay anyone for music it would be them.

... that's a big "if" too.
