    Unhappy Limewire DEVOURING UP RESOURCES!!

    Is anyone else having this problem??? Its really bumming me out, cuz i like the prgm. Everyonce in a while my system just starts choking. ill check out the process list and it'll be using every availible resource. any advice? sympathy? well wishes?

    ive run ad-aware and they cant find anything wrong....

    HELP PLEASE...

    Limewire uses Sun Java , which consumes ALOT of resources. especially RAM. Nothing you can do about it.

    Are you using the latest Java version? (Sun's JRE 5.0 which is considerably faster than previous versions.)
    Have you enabled ultrapeer mode? If LimeWire is running as an ultrapeer it will use a lot more memory.
    Are you using MacOSX? In previous versions, there were some memory leaks in the MacOSX version.

    thanks for the help

    No, i wasnt running in ultrapeer mode, and Im running WinXP. anyway, ive switched to Ares, which I'm lovin. thanks for the advice.

    hey guys is there any sub version of azureus that doesnt use up a whole bunch of memory?

    Again, Java

    Azureus runs on Java too, and Java is a slow(er) platform that consumes TONS of resources. Can't do anything about that :(
