    reinstalling lexmark printer

    i have the lexmark disk and when i go to add printer i choose disk and everything install fine,prob is whenever i go to print it says prob communicting with printer,the connections are fine the power is on,what could i be doing wrong?

    Uninstall everything related to said printer first, then re-install the software FIRST before even hooking up the printer to you computer. Then after the driver install it should prompt you to hook up the printer. The USB stuff in windows gets wierd if you plug something in before the drivers. It doesn't know what to do with its self so it gives errors. Oh and you might have to go into your control panels/system/device manager and make sure the printer is in fact gone after the uninstall but before you try to reload the drivers
