    Question Shareaza to Azureus?

I am fairly new to Bittorrent downloads and am using Shareaza and Azureus. I am currently finding Azureus to be quicker by some way. I have a download currently running in Shareaza and it is very slow. Is it possible to transfer a partially downloaded torrent from one client to another?

    Yes:

Just put the partial file into Azureus's download directory and then restart the .torrent. Azureus will hash-check the file before resuming the download.

It should have worked...it is possible that the torrent is not an active torrent, but is being shared by Shareaza/Gnutella Network..and not BT at all....just a guess of course

I've had no trouble doing this in the past when torrents have run out of seeds on one tracker but not another. I've also used this method to finish partial files which have run out of sources on other networks. You could even use this to remove corrupt data from files obtained from networks with bad hashing practices (provided the torrent source file is good).

Make sure the file names and paths are correct or you'll be starting from the beginning. Some torrents clients may just overwrite your file so make a backup first.

As mentioned, it's even possible to switch trackers as long as the file is exactly the same.

    Kevyla:

Make sure you have moved the incomplete download into the directory into which Azureus downloads its files, or alternatively, just set your Azureus download directory to where the incomplete file is located.

You then need to re-open the *whatever*.torrent file in Azureus. Azureus should then do a hash-check on the incomplete file before it resumes the download.

If this does not work then you need to tell us at what stage the problem occurs.

well it wont work with multi-file torrents because shareaza puts all the partials in one temp file

    shareaza has a few options:
    1. you can search for torrents decentral
    2. if the torrent was made with www.torrentaid.com. you can swarm from edonkey network
    3. if the tracker is down, shareaza will find the file over gnutella and loads it !
    4. azureus needs as well a p2p added to search torrents deventral ina gnutellastyle network like www.jetiants.tk
