They usually have person's name or name of the web site in the filename, try those for the password first!

You can take a look at this thread here that is already closed: http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=23110

The password is usually the name of the website you got the torrent from, or that the torrent is from originally.

The url address has usually worked for me in the past, but I found one last week 115mb...doh! that I ended up just deleting because I couldn't crack the PW. This is the first one I've found like this. I tried everything from the name of the artist, to the cd name, to the address...even suprnova!...not a happy camper. A rar cracking software is definitely in order!

if you get a file that needs a password and the password doesn't come with it, that usually means the place that you got it from wants you to sign up for their website (not a bad thing) and use their service like that... I have actually signed up for many bitorrent websites and have found it quite easier to get the files i need... Like you said, some files have passwords, this has killed me before too. Why passwords on a p2p file? The websites want more users and torrents.

if any of you want a few good websites for torrents, then pm me and i will give the website and a current one of my user names to you.

    this is for bitorrent only

Normally i'd have Yahooed! before asking. There are numerous password guessers (some call em crackers but they guess em) - and yeh, the site name is the most common one. It's to prevent someone directly linking the file on their site.
