Exclamation help! re d/loadin/ burning and not working?

    :hole
Hope someone can help? I have _NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A and can download avi files and watch them on puter. The problem I am having is that it won't play on my home DVD player. I have tried an AVI converter but this only worked twice, I have also played DVD's supplied by friends, so my player will play DVD's. Am I downloading the wrong type of file? Is there something I am missing? I have been using nero 6 ultra. What is the best type of file to download to play on DVD player as friends don't see what my problem is? I just wanna do it myself !

I am a newbie so please any advice will be appreciated but can you put it in a way i can understand ie. step by step?

    Thanks in advance

    A very frustrated mommapink :hole

Is your dvd-player divx compatible? If you're trying to burn a circa 4.7gb file, thats just a dvd image, avi files are compressed rips.

Well, first check your downloaded file, which codec it is. Also, some of the new dvd players, brandless is best, are divx compatible. I suggest looking on the box and looking for any indications of 'divx'.

To check what type of AVI movie you have, go download free GSpot! To convert AVI or Mpeg movies to DVD format, get TMPGEnc Studio!
