    ANts development

I'll come back to ANts coding as soon as my new internet connection will be properly set up by my internet provider... I've got some problems with it lately!

Thx for the help ad for keeping up the work!

    Thank you Gwren

For the record I would also like to say thanks for the hundreds of hours of work you have put into coding ANts.

Thanks for spending your own money to move the development of P2P forward.

We are not all ungrateful, uncaring, file grabbing, attention hunting selfish users.

    Thanks Gwren.

    Thanks for the work Gwren.

Any opensource program that is working towards making a good anonymous file sharing program has my support.

Jep I agree he's putting in a lot of work to create an anonymous network that can be wide open unprivate but yet private... Good work GWERN...

I have yet to see anyone else providing as quick of updates as GWERN to there P2P applications.

Is this another threat to watch out for - or does provxying take care of it?

That story is a very good find. I emailed a link to Gwren. I don't think he will be able to do much because it seems to be more of a concept. But if that ever is put into widespread use hacks will be found to defeat it. You can bet Gwren will find a way around it too.
For now it seems that the reliability is in question, so we have to wait and see how it develops.

like i said before,Gwren said, if you want a stable version use 9.6c. If you are not having trouble with the thread count in 9.7x or 9.7y you are not sharing many files or not running for extended periods of time. The longer you run it the higher the threads go and after 10 hours or so you crash.

Furthermore after Gwren fixes the thread issue, he will move on to improve some other area and then we will go through the alphabet all over again. When ants is running as well as any 2nd generation prgram then we'll take a break.

Perhaps it is time to add a disclaimer that ANts should not be used for infringing activities - does not sound right but in the light of:
    http://www.slyck.com/news.php?story=728
    maybe it is time.
