The WPNP servers for WinMX 2.6 have been disabled indefinitely.
This disablement is not only in effect in Japan, but globally.
It is true that most connections to the WPNP servers for WinMX 2.6 came from Japanese domains, and we are sorry that there may be many disappointed Japanese users such as yourself.
However, in these tough economic times, it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain a free server for older versions of our software, thus the decision to disable the servers indefinitely.
If it were fiscally viable, we would love to keep the service running.
The WPNP servers for newer versions of WinMX, such as version 3.3 remain active.

Nothing will be of help since 3.3 still don't work properly on my PC.
I wonder if Frontcode will be able to solve my issues. It get me really upset.
There's no way WinMX 3.3 can work on one PC and not another. If you really want it, throw your files onto CD, format and put XP on and if that doesn't work (drastic I know), I'll eat my hat.
I'm using XP and my box was formated last week.
I have been on 2.6 sharing with the japanese community for a long, long time without any prob, but 3.XX never work fine here.
Unfortunatelly, there is nothing more to do. But I'm still waiting for a reliable release in the near future [ I hope so ]
What server is this exactly? Don' t they claim that WinMX is decentralized?
The server's probably a hostcache. It may be a bandwidth problem they are having. So bye, bye 2.6.

Perhaps u dont know or forget at some times, but winMX was origanilly made to connect to opennap and slavanap servers.
It never had its own networks till the 2.xx version
This is just a way for winmx to force u to use their latest software.
Your right huiz.. and F that... 3. anything sucks they should make thier servers avaliable with all versions???? If I haft to log onto every server that exist's to find a file I will never upgrade beyond 2.6. FAH-Q WPNP
