Angry Winmx3.3 suddenly stop responding :(

    Hello:
hum.... well winmx 3.3 could be pretty, all flashy and new... but it keeps freezing after long usage, suddenly the program stops working and i can't access or modify anything, all i can do is to move the windows and refresh a search using the keyboard if im in the search window, but can't make anything else even close windows or the program, when i close the program with the task manager (win xp) it says winmx is waiting a answer of me ¿?¿?, wth is happening here! im using windows xp in a AMD Athlon , and i never have had this problem with winmx2.6 (or anyother program) so i went back there :P untill i find out whats happening.

    any idea?
    ^_^

try secondary connection. and try to limit the number of programs you are using. also if you haven't scanned for ad ware in awhile you should try that. All should help improve perfomance.

You can still get winmx 2.6 there, http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconVa...1750/winmx.lzh

I have adware 5.83 and i dont use to have many programs running so i don't think that the reason to stop responding, i believe winmx3.3 is the one failing, what else can i though if i havent had this problem before? , maybe is not full compatible with winxp, hum... using a secondary connection will only make it harder because im behind a firewall and maybe itll add more compatibility problems.

Ive had no problems with 3.3. Also, i belive that 2.6 is shut down now, except for opennap.

Caitlyn Marble> sorry i confuse you, because im behind a firewall since the beginning have been using only the secundary connection, yeah the one u can't open your own chan and that don't take a little bandwidth to redirect users.

this is what it makes still more weird the fact my winmx3.3 crash, when i start it all its fine, im a chatroom, doing a search&browsing a few users,d/l&u/l a few files and then ... pofff.... all freezed, task manager report is that its working normally don't even show the message this programs has stopped responding... blah... blah blah, really odd.

i have nothing against 3.3 is pretty and looks cool but the lack of stability makes it unworthy, at least for me.

    :-(

    Same here

Same problem here. Not so sure what causes the issue, but the error decreased when I set compatibility mode to WINDOWS 2000. Win98 compatibility locks it up more. Tried a clean install, deleted EVERYTHING that had to do with previous versions of winmx, and still nothing.:mellow
