Hello .. I need to upgrade the Winmx version I've been using. I've downloaded the new version but have a couple of questions,
Must I remove the old program before installing the new one?
Are the songs I have safe? I mean, are they elsewhere on the h/d, and won't also be uninstalled?
Thanks!
I do not know yet if it is best to uninstall the old version sometimes it is and sometimes it's not. At any rate the #1 thing that you have to do is find your songs. Yes they are on your hard drive. If you have no idea then click find and put .mp3 in the search and see where they are.
The program will not delete your songs. you need to know where they are.

You don't have to leave the old one. You can just uninstall it if you choose. It will leave your shared folder alone.
Most people will recommend to un-install WinMX first before upgrading to a new version to ensure no complications & an error-free program so you get a clean install.
............is the one that's never asked. People here are glad to help and judging from the above posts your question has been answered

Though It IS best to uninstall many programs before installing new versions, this is safe to install over. Just be sure your current old copy is COMPLETELY turned off first.
Your songs will be in exactly the same place they have been. The new version simply overcopies. And you'll love it.
