Hey ZP, I just got a 6mb line today. i was wondering if anyone would want free web site hosting or email or something along those lines. I have about 200gb of free space but the only catch is i dont know how to set any of this up for public consumption. I'm running xp if anyone can help me set up this thing it would be great. Was thinking of beta testing at 1gb accounts(200) or 500 mb (400). Maybe sqmail would be a good option. please any help would be great. email me [email protected].
futhermore maybe i could set up a real zp DC hub.
I know for a fact that jorge will not go for a hub directly assossiated with ZP. however, in the past, there have been hubs run by ZP members with no formal connection to ZP and all was swell.
Personally, I don't think the email idea is a good one. People will want a very reliable space, and a single home user with a low end business class connection probably wont fit the bill for many people.
If you really want to put your new connection to use, use it for hosting and tracking torrents.
Yeh you cannot create a "real zp dc hub" Pretty sure (98%) that Jorge wouldn't like that. About the email hosting, most ISP's allow webservers but do not like their users to host e-mail servers. Maybe call your ISP about that one?
To run a webhost for the public, you'd need FTP access (FTP server) and a web hosting sever (Abyss is good. If you can find out how to use the built-in windows one, that too)
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):

I agree with wonderboy2005, host and track torrents. I love bittorrents beauty.
