    a burning question inside.....

I JUST finished downloading a ps2 game I'd like to put on a cd and play.

the files in the folder look like this...e-bout3 with numbers running from .001 to .041 with an e-bout.sfv file in there. There's also a e-bout3 MSInfo file in there that doesnt open

I have Nero 6.3.1.25 so I guess my question is what do I do now.....this is my first time attempting this. Any and all help is appreciated.

I don't mean to be a prick, but if these types of files are too much to handle, then burning a ps2 Bootable CD will be next to impossible.

but if you must know, those are compressed files. Id be willing to bet that each one weighs in around 15MB, right? thats because they are originally posted on newsgroups, which generally have a 15MB filesize limit.

anyway, you will need to uncompress them. The good news is, you dont have to do each one individually. since you're already a pirate, go grab yourself a copy of winrar. once you have winrar installed, open up the file that ends in .001 (with winrar). extract the files - they will probably be either ISO or BIN and CUE.

Now the hard part. you are probably thinking, "oh... I can just burn those files to a CD and they'll work on my PS2." and if you have a modchip, they MIGHT. if not though, you might as well forget it.

to get a PS2 rip to work w/o a modchip:

(this is how I do it - other methods do exist)

    1) you need a gameshark or action replay for PS2
    2) you need to change the location of the file system.cnf
    3) you need to rearange the files on the CD so that it will still fit on a regular CD after the system.cnf file is moved.
    4) you need to rebuild the image file
    5) burn to CD
    6) pray to any and all deities that you believe in.

I've not rip any PS games before, but I thought you just need a network adapter for your game console then use HD Loader or HD Advance to convert your backup CDs or DVDs & store the games on the hard drive to play?

There are hundreds of threads like these! Anyway, any program capable of handling rar filess will work eg:
    - Winrar
    - Izarc
    - Picozip
    - Zipzag

Izarc is free but after i uninstalled it and associated zipzag with the archive files, the icons stayed and the extension name was 'izarc compressed file' which was annoying.
