I'm kind of into SciFi spaceship shows such as Stargate SG-1, Babylon 5, etc. And I thought it would be cool to find a video game (kind of like Age of Empires) where you build space stations, space ships, etc. and have wars with your ships etc.
Now I'm not a big gamer at all. I play little Xbox and little PC games. So if there is a game out there like this already, forgive me :-) ..... So I'm curious is there a game out like this already? And if not, I wish some gaming company would create one! LoL, .. Watching all these spaceships shows with wars with laser beams and stuff makes me want to play it in a game :heart :heart :heart
Star Wars Battlegrounds is a starwars type Age of Empires. But, it's more of a mod than a different game, so it pretty much exactly AoE with different looking people.
Freespace 2 is a very good flight sim from a few years ago, and I still play it sometimes.
Those are the games I've played that I can think of off the top of my head.

Homeworld, Homeworld 2. good space game, if you like building space fleets. fighting takes place in sizeable arena, good plot, create your own fleets and use them in a 3-d gui. quite cool. i also liked the Star Wars X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter for flight sim, but it might be hard to find now, not sure though. SW Battlefront is mainly ground based, but still fun. a buddy of mine has O.R.B. , haven't played much, but it looks bad ass
