    Unhappy something does not compute- my graphics card!

    If anyone can tell me how to stop being a moron, I would really appreciate it. Here is what happened:

    I bought the Sims 2. All I want to do is play it. But when I try to, it is all grainy & weird. Come to find out my graphics card is from 1998 and only has 8mb capacity. So I need a new card. Okay, I know there are AGP cards and PCI cards. So, I open my tower and look at the old card. It says it is AGP card on it, but it is not in that wierd brown slot, where I though AGP cards go, but in a white slot. (????) But it clearly says AGP on it, so I go out and buy a 64mb AGP card. I take old card out of white slot, put new card in brown slot & secure. Ok. I go to plug in my monitor (I have a Viewsonic VPD150) but the monitor plug won't plug into video card! Monitor plug is what I guess is called a MDR 20, but I need it to plug into the VGA 15 pin thingy. What the heck have I done? Can I buy an adapter? My old card had 2 plugs on the back of it, one 15 pin (normal) and one that fit my monitor plug. Is anyone out there who knows the answers? Please help.

    Your monitor is DFP.

    So, VGA -> DFP connector.

    Try froogle if you want better prices, but that's what you need.

    Yes, but the connector in the link above has 24 pins (or slots, whatever they are called) and my monitor has only 20 pins. They look like this :::::::::: two rows of 10. Do they make such a conenctor? Can I get a connector to connect to that connector? So confused.
