    virus problem

I have reason to believe that my computer is infected with a virus. Norton auto protect has been disable and it wont let me re-enable it and live update is the same. I have done a virus scan with norton and it came up with nothing I also used the Trend Micro Systems online scanner thing. The online one said I have some JAVA NOCHEAT thing. Any ideas or solutions

    did you
    turn system restore off?
remove /system volume information from NAV exceptions ?
    upgrade dfinations?
and then and only then scan

if u did all this, things should be fine, if not, format

I spoke to soon. A new problem has raised its ugly head. I did what the symantec help thing said. I uninstalled and reinstalled it fixed the problem but when I updated my virus definitions it went back to Error for e-mail scanning and auto-protect is disabled. The only thing I find weird is the other computer in the house with norton doesnt have this problem. Whats going on

autoprotect gets disabled in NAV for systems on lan, its common ppoblem
if it recovers in few seconds after startup...things are cool

just an fyi this guy is obivously using a warez copy of norton 2003, and for the most part that is a common issue with that warez version of norton. i suggest getting avast or nod32 they tend to be top of the line

Actually im not using a "warez" copy im using a perfectly legitimate copy that I paid for along with the 40 dollar subscription fee I paid. That is why I am fairly annoyed because nothing seems to fix it. I would use another virus scanner but I paid money for norton and I intend to use it. Though I will definately be switching when my subscription ends until then I would like norton to work as it is supposed to because with out auto-protect its pretty much useless.
