I am having trouble installing directx 9.0c I have tried using the webbased and redistrubatle one to no avail it gets to the screen that says installing components and then just sits there and never does anything. I am running WinXP home with SP1. What am I doing wrong
How long do you let it sit before canceling it ? I know I've had one or two Windows updates in the past that just sat there seemingly idle for upwards of 20 to 40 minutes until they started installing. Probably not a good thing.

I have been sitting here for about 20 minutes so far and it has done nothing
I hate when that happens to me. Most optional windows components I download directly instead off of Win Update.
Though if you have tried that too I dont know why it would not work.
Do you share your network? Could it be network slowdown?
