    Help: Downloaded Movie, now what?

Hello, I'm somewhat new to file sharing. I've been a stalker [EDIT] here [You dirty minded... ;-p ) for a little bit and saw a similar post a while ago, cant find it now though because I dont remember anything that was said in the thread, jsut the pictures and so I cant search it unfortunately. Thus, I've done the unthinkable, I've registered and about to start a post! Thanks for helping a noob like me.

I downloaded and dont know what to do with the files.

The only time I tried to download a movie, it was in the form of to .avi files. This time, I have 2 folders (CD1, CD2) and a .nfo file (mvn-colts). Inside the folder CD1, there are 57 files, all of which are called mvn-colts01. The file endings of these files are .r00, .r01, .r02 etc all the way up to .r54. The last 2 files, one of which is a .sfv file, and the other is a .rar file. Inside the folder CD2, there are 58 files, all of which are called mvn-colts02. The file endings of these files are .r00, .r01, .r02 etc all the way up to .r55. The last 2 files, one of which is a .sfv file, and the other is a .rar file.

Unusually, only the files .r00 to .r30 and the .rar files have winRAR icons meaning Windows doesnt recognize them as .rar files (I think). Furthermore, when I try to extract them using winRAR, it wont work. It creates the folder I want, but it winds up empty.

What am I supposed to do? Is my winRAR not updated or something? Does it matter that the containing folder that Azureus downloaded the files to is a Read Only folder? Can someone help me out?

Thats ok, as i removed the title.

    Edit: Thank you mod

You should be able to open up one of those .r__ files and you should have either a video file or bin/cue files. Then you should be able to extract them normally. I have never had problem with it. Another thing your not allowed to post names of things you downloaded here. I suggest you delete it from your post

I cant extract the files... It says something about corrupted file. This surprises me, I dont think BitTorrent downloads in a way that causes corrupted files easily...

if the files are corrupted download hksfv and run the .sfv file

if one of the rars is corrupt then you need to go find them or try checking the option keep broken parts on winrar

It usually only says corrupted files when you havent actually downloaded the movie. BitTorrent creates all of the files at the start of the torrent download, although this does not mean that you have downloaded any of it. And knowing the most if not all of the BitTorrent clients do hash checking on all of the parts of the files, I'm betting it's because the torrent hasn't totally finished downloading yet.
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):

Thanks for your help Hawk, I just realized I'm looking in the wrong folder. I had 2 attempts to download going on simultaneously and the one I was trying to open had not yet finished.

So now I'mstaring at the right files. There are 2 .bin and 2 .cue files. They are:

    mvn-coltsr01.bin
    mvn-coltsr01.cue
    mvn-coltsr02.bin
    mvn-coltsr02.cue

The .bin files are not associated with any program but the .cue files are associated with Roxio Media Creator, my CD writing application. I think this means they are CD image files that need to be mounted. What programs can I use to do this? Does Roxio Media player do it? Is there a free alternative to Roxio Media Player for this job ( I hate the application, too pretty, too draining, and too buggy) ?

Thanks for putting up with this n00b, I understand how frustrating it is

I got it working. Sorry, I got lazy and didnt search. There was a sticky that explained what to do once I got the bin/cue file. Thank you minirva (sorry I butchered ur name)

You know more then you give yourself credit for. Cue files are simply files that contain instructions on how to burn the .bin file(which is the main file). Nero will burn .bin, .cue, and .iso files as will most modern burning softwares. If the .rar files are curupt the only thing I know that will fix them are Par and par2 files which require either quick par or smart par software to work. These are obtained usaually in the same grouping on newsgroups and ocasionally posted on bit Torrent. If you PM me with the title I'm sure I can come up with the Pars required to fix it.

Thanks Dwarf, I got it working.

Now, I just need a decent burning program... Anyone have recommendations for something free? I HATE my current Roxio program, but I dont wanna spend any money on a program.

Burn cue files with cdrwin. Using anything else is bloat.
cdrwin created the cue file format, anyway.
Or you can mount them with daemon tools first just to test them.
