    Talking Windows XPee

Where can I get some good xp boot screens or themes. Oh yea, tomorrow will another anniversary for the 9/11 attacks; not that it will result in any changes in my behavior. I have been alerted by the RIAA that P2P networks are somehow contributing to the financial funding of terrorist networks. GO FIGURE>

well, for the first part, check out http://www.themexp.org/ - they have some pretty good stuff there (of course, you gotta be running style xp - or just run linux, where theme add-on comes with most guis by default :) )

my friend tried to change his boot screen and it took him nearly a week to fix it. good thing too cuz he was about to break out the recovery cd. i advice to you guys is if your on SP1 be vary carefull, for those of you on SP2 don't bother. i mean its just a boot screen. you only see it for 5 to 10 seconds.

    Exclamation Don't Use Style XP

Though you can change both the boot screen and logon screen manually, I use a program found at http://themes.belchfire.net/~userxp/ called LogonUIBootRandomizer. Its freeware and seems free of any spyware. Some people think that changing the boot screen can result in some catastrophic collapse of your system, though unlikely I would advise you to backup your system files, personally I never had any problems. :playboy

Aboi is correct, I checked themexp and it bundles its software with adware, but its possible to use their boot screens without installing any adware by using LogonUIBootRandomizer or equivalent. Also remember that a boot screen that works for xp sp1 may not work for xp sp2.

I've never used Style xp but I have heard it patchs Windows XP to use unsigned visual styles. It can drastically change the appearance of desktop themes, but to do so it changes at least one system file and might result in system instability and diminished computer performance. Whether to use it or not depends on what you want to do.
