I am trying to burn some VCDs that will play in my home DVD player. One of the VCDs I would like to burn is from an AVI file, and the other is from a DAT file. How do I do this using nero burning rom 6?
The files need to be mpegs first. you can use TMPGEnc to convert the avi. If the dat is really a mpeg then renaming it might work. Otherwise VCDEasy has a tool that can do it.
I always thought nero converted it for you. I personally don't burn vcd's but i think it will convert your avi file. Double check with someone else tho unless you want a coaster.

Nero will burn avi directly to vcd. You need to choose the video CD option under the CD option.
