Have you tried using a link site I dont use emule so off hand I cant think of any. Your supposed to use a site that provides links to files on the network if you want to avoid fakes
modestas no p2p program is perfect i suggest next time you download a file do this.
if its avi format go to the emule folder *temp folder* and copy and paste the file that your partially downloading.
rename the file to .avi format
open in vlc player or your choice of video player and see if its the file that you want
avi previewer as well is good
this is how to make sure the file you want is what it is

When downloading a large file with emule it is worth right clicking on it and look at the filenames that it is called.
Sharereactor is dead. Try shareconnector.com
Sharereactor is shut down but shareconnector (all one word) is a great site. Their main page is down temporarily but you get redirected to their forums and that is where I get the best stuff. I dont remember the last time I got a fake file. That is how good it is when you use these sites. :) Also this program is different than kazaa. If you only want a few files, they may take a week or more to come in. If you DL 50-100 movie files at the same time, 10 to 20 files will come in per day if you have a fast cable connection. I am speaking only of large movie files keep in mind. For much smaller music files, many more will come in per day. So keep a huge incomming files queue at all times and you will have a huge library of good stuff faster than you can buy hard drives. :)
The more sources per file, the more likely the file is real. You dont want to download something that only has 1 user anyway, as you most likely wont connect to him and the download will fail.
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):

Also sporting a black MacBook

Upgraded to 2GB RAM.
Well your going to get fake files no matter what network your on some more than others but like Hawkburn said the more sources the better chances of the file being real. Look for cluse like the size of the file, the source, their speed etc. Add it all up and make an educated pick!
Stec Net Forums for Mercora, P2P, Music, Chat, Games, Poetry & More!
when u r downloading the file, right click on it and choose "file details..." then go to the tab which says "file name" if all or the majority of the file names concur then chances are it is what u want, however, if most of the names have nothing to do with what u want then it is certainly a fake file you might also want to check out the "comments" tab
one tequila, two tequila, three tequila.......... FLOOR
eDonkey1.0 warns me if it's fake.
a network is only as good as its users, and popularity has never done well for p2p networks in that regard.
