I was trying to download the new Linux terminal server poroject 2 using BT, and when I do so my internet dies. And I am 100% sure it only happens with BT, can anyone help me.
It is a cheap router, my internet stops working and I need to restart the modem+router. The modem wont get its a dhcp ip for hours. DLINK DI604. Everything worked nicely with BT, but after upgrade of my internet from 3mbits to 5mbits everything dropped . Any help I would love. I dont think its the router, not getting a ip, but internet goes down. Cuz it wont resolve a ip on my pc directly.P.S whatsa good *affordable* router.

You need to cap your upload.
Get a client with upload control, such as BitTornado, & cap it at about 75% of your bandwidth.
Havwe you got the latest firmware in the router ?
