i cant get a green light on my bit torrent downloads now iv installed windows service pack 2 for XP, iv even turned off the windows firewall that comes with it, it worked fine befor, anyone got any ideas?
i cant get a green scrolly bar when i start up. its blue.
but bittorrent works fine. set a rule to unblock it, and dont run 2 firewalls at once, so if you have one, turn of XPs.
yea, mines blue to, what does that mean?
and i have turned off XP's firewall, i still cant get green on BIt tornado
Im using shareaza for bittorrents, and ive set up port forwarding on my external router. so i have basically a direct connection. If SP2 is still killing it then try finding that multiple connections hack. I dont know anything other than that it was made but it allows 50 connections rather than 10.
oh and i think the blue scroll bar means Microsoft lost the old one? Or theyre too lazy to detect their own OS and insert a new one, but i dont see what was wrong with the old one.
yea, i have set up port fowarding for all ports opening at 6000 to 10000 on my router, befor i didnt even have to do that and i got green lights, now i just get yellow and rubbish connections
stuff it, i did a system restore, ill wait til i hear about other people with this problem and see what comes up befor doing anything else, still only seem to get a 10kps connection with a green light though, this is wierd
You could look for a wiki guide somewhere. I want to update my guide for SP2, but at the same time I want to wait a while before installing SP2.
I'm not really malicious. I'm a nice guy.

I did update to SP2 and am having trouble connecting to fmy file sharing programs. In somne ways the new features are nice but I wish I would have waited.Originally Posted by Malicious Intent

This was mentioned in a previous thread. I was leery of Xp2, a co worker where I work who
also is our sys admin agreed with me as there were some flaws in it concerning applications. This concern is mostly for business.
There are ppl who have installed it who say it works just fine with p2p, granted this is
if you know some simple stuff. Sp2 blocks most ports for "worm" security. While it does just that it also kills port traffic for most p2p.
A solution was posted in the other thread
Just download and use the patch and it should restore funtionality to your p2p progsOriginally Posted by phalkon30
