    Azureus won't connect

Okay, I've tried to get Azureus working again for a few days now with no luck. I get no errors when launching it. I've tried it with and without a router without luck. When using the router, I've forwarded all necessary ports and everything else. The interesting thing is that it worked before I flashed my router's (D-Link 624) firmware. I downgraded the firmware when it stopped working, but it won't give me anything but "red faces". I've even connected directly to my modem via Ethernet with no luck. This has happened on both of my computers (Powerbook G4's). No firewalls activated, no reason for it not to work.

Any ideas? I've got a 3Mb/384kb connection and would LOVE to be able to use it to it's full (or any) potential.

    Thanks!

It could just be that the file you are trying to get has no seeders. Try downloading areally popular file, just to see if it works.

With azureus, you dont need to forward ports. It does it for you.

If you can never get it to work maybe try a different client?

Thanks for your reply. I've tried several torrents, some that are (should be) very popular. Still no luck. I tried using the official BT client, with the same problem. Any other ideas? I'm using Roadrunner (Time Warner) Cable Internet. Could they be blocking all of the necessary ports or something?

I've forwarded all necessary ports and everything else.
Type netstat in a command prompt on the machine you run bittorrent on. It is possible that the computers LAN ip address has changed. Check if you are port forwarding to the correct 192.168.x.x. address.

With azureus, you dont need to forward ports. It does it for you.
Azureus will only automatically configure portforwarding if you are using a connection sharing system that supports uPnP and uPnP is enabled. Most of the home NAT routers out there don't so manual configuration is required.

Azureus, bitcomet, bitsprint and bittornado support uPnP.

zaphodiv, he said he had the same problem after he bypassed the router so its something else
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

There is no software firewall (also I'm using Mac OSX with OS firewall disabled). Driving me nuts......

    Update:
I forwarded ports 6881-6999. No luck. I reinstalled and ran the wizard. Interestingly, there is a NAT error on ports from 6881-6999. I attempted port 6871 and there was no NAT error. However, Azureus started acting funny. I got some weird message when I placed a torrent in the window. Then the torrent went directly to seeding window (without ever being downloaded). I can't remember the message, but when I get it again, I will post it.

BTW, I forwarded the ports to a range of IP addresses (192.xxx.x.xx0 - 192.xxx.x.xx3). My machine is currently within the range.
