The problem you are experiencing is happening because SP2 limits the number of connections to a maximum of 10 but I do not know why you woulden't be able to connect to the torrent at all. I reccomend you do a system restore to load to a point before you installed it or wait to see a fix for it.

its a problem with the final version of SP2 as well, I think I might just use the last release candidate before final or something.

Because It takes forever to connect on shareaza, because you know when it starts up it just tries to connect to like 50 gnutella clients, so my connection locks up and i cant use the internet until 10 mins later, and its going really slow. Windows sucks like that though.

Well, there are two reasons I can think this is happening. Isharemanyfilez is kind of right, although misinformed. Read this article on slashdot http://it.slashdot.org/it/04/08/12/1...id=201&tid=164

If you're wondering if that affects you, look in your system event logs. If you see the ID 4226, then you need to run a fix tool. Go to http://www.lvllord.de/4226fix/4226fix.htm and download/follow the instructions. If you add the comand line /l16000000 it will limit the maximum outgoing connections to 16000000, which is more than overkill.

The other reason could be the new windows firewall. Try disabling it by going through the control panel > Windows Firewall. Turn it off or make an exception.

Whoa, phalk. Haven't seen you round here in a long time! How are ya?

Yes, disable the firewall via control panel or disable the service. Though the connection thing only limits outbound connections per second to inactive hosts. P2P apps are notorious for being clogged with peers who have long since logged off but remain "seen" by the protocol. This really shouldn't affect it much, but in practice, it seems to. I haven't noticed any drop in speeds, etc.

also: if you run that fix tool, please don't put it to 16 million right away...bring the number up gradually until you stop getting the error message. the default setting changes it from 10 to 50.

the feature was implemented for a reason...try to keep it semi-in-tact :)
