After the success of last April's Awaken Events music conference and showcase which was held at the Alley Rock bar featuring industry professional Mike Galaxy from LA, Awaken Events is proud to present its second event for the year. The Awaken Ambush will be held at the Ryan's Irish Pub in St. Julian's featuring six local live acts.

Industry professional Bobby Borg which is a Maltese descended will be showcasing Niki Gravino, Stilair, Bitterside, IQ, Miriam Christine and Buggly B. All of the participating acts are currently being promoted in foreign market by Awaken Events through its marketing mediums globally. The event will take place next Friday August 13, 2004 and will kick start at 07:00pm. All true local music fans are highly encouraged to attend and support the local artists participating. The event is free of door charge.

Borg is the author of the highly endorsed book "The Musician's Handbook" A Practical Guide To The Music Business published by "Billboard" books, and a regular contributor to "Music Biz" magazine, "Singer" magazine, "Recording" magazine, "The Indie Bible," and several other educational and online resources. Borg is also the author of six self-published instructional method books for musicians, and has written educational articles for the international magazines Modern Drummer.

Moreover he is a composer, artist, and performer. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, Japan and Europe with a variety of artists ranging from pop to R&B to rock. He was part of the major label rock group Warrant (BMG/CMC Records), Beggars Thieves (Atlantic Records), and his own group, Left For Dead (Alpha Music Japan), which Borg managed and licensed in the U.S. and Japan. With these groups, Borg has worked alongside some of the world's best personal managers, attorneys, producers and agents. He has a great sense for what labels want because he's lived through it himself.

Bobby has also worked as a consultant to independent labels and artists, and as the music supervisor with various independent films. He is currently an artist and song consultant for the independent A&R company TAXI where he helps place modern rock/alternative and pop rock songs in film/TV and with record labels. He also served as an alumni representative and recruiter for Berklee College of Music, and has also endorsed a number of major equipment manufacturers: Pearl, Sabian, Main Line, Rhythm Tech, Hard Case, Groove Juice, Aquarian, Shure, Tama, Pro-Mark, and Dean Markley.
