Unhappy Real Newbie here need a lot of help!

Hi everyone. Ok I'm like having alot of problems with this whole burning .rar files to cds to make a dvd or whatever. Ok first of off......I downloaded this movie and it has about 16 .r01, .r02 etc files and one .rar file. I tried nero 6 but it was only a demo and wouldn't let me do anything. I tried....powerarchiver nothing......tried neronet nothing.....I'm working on Alchohol 120% now......but I'm totally clueless on how to use that! .....I read in another forum that I need to convert the .rar/.r01 files to .iso or whatever.......how do I do that? And with what program? And when I'm done with that how do I go about burning them to a cd with Alcohol 120%? I'm really really in need of help. Please HELP ME!!!!

i suggest using iso files as the are cd images, and maybe reading the abundant help files in the programs you listed please refine your question so we can answer it better

You need winRar to extract the contents of the rar archive.

If you open the .r00 file from WinRar, is will extract the whole .avi or .iso - I'm sure you had to try that!!

Alcohol 120%, Deamon tools, and many other can do the job for burning or mounting images. Just make a search. There are a lot every day in suprnova if you want to take a look.

ok check this out. I downloaded a .torrent file.....(forgive me for these questions and I am really new to this)....what's the difference between a .torrent file and a .iso???? Oh yeah I downloaded a file from that site and pulled it up on isobuster...and it's saying something about Read Error...Primary Volume Descriptor is unreadable...??? Did I dl a bad file or something? Actually I downloaded 2 and they showed the same thing. Am I doin' something wrong?

The .torrent file only gives information about the tracker and the parts of the file you are trying to get. It is not the file itself.

most burning program will just ask you for the .cue file, and as long as the .bin file is in the same folder as the .cue the program will do the rest of the job for you

torrent files are small and just contain the tracker information, that's why sometimes they stop working.

BTW Winrar can solve many archiving programs, and it can treat *.iso files as an archive and extract without burning
