    how to..

theres some clown on dc++ who talks constant shit and keeps trying to download off me.. my question is , is there a way to prevent that person from being able to download off me, rather then right click , close connection. Because I want to leave my computer online but don't want him downloading off me....

Find out his IP address, which is usually listed in the user column after that user has connected to you. Just add that IP to a program blocklist like PeerGuardian, and he can't connect to you anymore.
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):

    ASUS A8N32-SLI Motherboard
    AMD 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
    Windows Vista (Ultimate 32bit)
2 GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS RAM
2x250 GB (in RAID 0) HDDs
EVGA GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB
    Creative X-FI Fatal1ty XtremeGamer

    Also sporting a black MacBook
    Revision/Release 1
    Upgraded to 2GB RAM.

and if i was that other guy, i'd call an op and have you banned

dc is for sharing--don't want to share, then unshare the files, or go somewhere else

    how dare he!

trying to download a shared file in a p2p program!

    what's the world coming to?

for the record, disconnecting someone on purpose is a bannable offense on most hubs

    what the hell?

you're a little slow , let me give you an example..

some guy online tells you , you're a stupid punk bitch and continues with the barrage of lame insults , then tries to download off you... would you let him? i wouldn't, thats why i want to prevent him from doing so..

let them do the dirty work

ops aren't watching over the hub 24/7 like you are watching over this forum. and I am not one to cry and complain to an op about someone swearing at me over the internet.. yea I bet you would think someone who spews grade school insults over a chat room to be quite insightful, lol
coming from a retarded person who claims I am a leecher because i am wanting to disable one moron from downloading off me.. ook.. I use DC++, its pretty hard to leech , as you need to share to be able to enter hubs..

Sorry to drag this thread up again, but how do ops know if you have banned a particular IP?
