I came across this website called copyprotectionsucks.co.uk I agree with them but campaigning for it to end is futile. These record companies have big and powerful friends all around the world and anyway burning and/or ripping cd has become easy. If u wan't rip it on to a computer and then burn it for the new batch of copy protected cd's, windows media player[latest version]and musicmatch jukebox plus or basic 8.2 or for older [and harder to rip or burn ] copy protected cd's ripping and then burning is a must. The program you need is audiograbber 1.83. ive heard of programs that burn copy-protected cd's old or new but i haven't downloaded or tested them. i'll post again when i've tested them to see if they work.
[p.s all newly released cd's with copy protection have the "new" copy protection which "supposedly" lets u play cd's on your computer but doesn't let u rip or burn cd's which is bullshit if the pariah of digital rights windows media player lets you rip/copy protected cd's it even has a playlist for it! and the one's which were released with the old copy protection thing are getting re-released with the new stuff on it so i guess the people who made a stink about it have had a victory of sorts!] oh i also forgot if you use musicmatch go to options when u are ripping and switch off error correction otherwise it will fuck it up don't worry unless it's scratched it will come out perfect oh yeah if u burn a copy make another one so u can send one to the record companies i'm sure that they will enjoy your nicely burnt norah jones cd or the such don't have a return address on the back [duh] send a little letter with it or for u lazy buggers send an e-mail and just send the copy of cd in the snail mail with a cover on don't want scratches from stopping u from showing off ur handy work now do we?
hope this has helped
