Whenever I type in someone, the resulting list comes with a few yellow colored files at the top. Next to this, there is a price, so these files presumably cost money. However, how can you be charged w/o your credit card information and what not? Just wondering.
I'm guessing you're asking about Kazaa and altnet. I believe that those are altnet's drm files. Altnet has a business relationship with Sharman Networks, the owner of Kazaa, to distribute free trial content. After a few uses you will no longer be able to use the file without paying for it. I don't think you have to pay before downloading it, just if you want to keep it. I could be wrong though, as I haven't used kazaa for years.
This happens on IMesh too. You can't be charged in "advance" unless you have signed up for their service and given them your credit info (you would have to be a fool). Miniver has it right I believe. I'm into the free thing so I never click those anyways. :)
May you always run with the wind at your back and good friends by your side.
