    Programs without LowID

    Hi folks!

Maybe someone can help me: My problem is that I only get an Low ID with Emule and Sharaza and I also now the reason. It's my router and I have no possibility to change the configuration.

My question is: Does someone know a good File Sharing Program where I don't need a high ID or which works otherwise?

    Thanks!

I've found that WinMX under certain circumstances, and Ares can be used without configuring a router/port forwarding. Also Gnutella 1/Gnutella 2 could work. None of these though, have the same content as ed2k/overnet.

If you cant configure your router, stay clear of BitTorrent, and Mp2p (blubster, piolet)
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):

    ASUS A8N32-SLI Motherboard
    AMD 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
    Windows Vista (Ultimate 32bit)
2 GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS RAM
2x250 GB (in RAID 0) HDDs
EVGA GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB
    Creative X-FI Fatal1ty XtremeGamer

    Also sporting a black MacBook
    Revision/Release 1
    Upgraded to 2GB RAM.

Azureus uses upnp to automatically map through routers. As long as your router supports upnp mapping you don't need to forward any ports manually.

    what about edonkey

You will get better results with ports mapped, but it should still work, somewhat, and it supports overnet and ed2k.

You can also use DC++ without port mapping from behind a firewall or router (passive mode). The only problem is you can't connect to ppl who are also in passive mode like you are. In large hubs you can find enough people that in active mode to download from.

Since its inception almost 30 years ago, the internet has been transformed from a primitive device for sharing thoughts and ideas, into a massive network where people pay to connect and read advertisements they don't want, while calling each other "asshats".

I find that a bit strange that there is no configuration on your router... nothing in the manual or anything?

anyway, you dont 'need' a high-id for ed2k, it will still work fine with low id, you just cant connect with other clients with low-ids...
