Any Mercora members here? Just wondering what peoples opinions are on it? MERCORA

What is Mercora

Mercora is a person-to-person network that enables you to find, communicate and share interests with friends and family. Mercora has built a framework for sharing digital content using peer-to-peer technologies to directly connect you with your friends on the network. You do all these things through the simple interface of the Mercora applications.

Here are things you can do:

* Enjoy digital music with Mercora P2P Radio
o Play your digital music, and webcast this music to others on the network legally (Mercora supports MP3 and WMA)
o Discover new music by listening to high quality broadcasts of music by others on the network
o How we legally do Webcasting

* Share pictures with friends and family using Mercora P2P Pictures
o Create albums and pictures on your local computer for friends to see
o Decide which of your friends gets to see your various albums using privacy settings for each album

* Create a network of friends and family and find new people who share your interests
o Invite only the people you want to interact with
o Make new friends with people who share your interests and hobbies

* Communicate with friends and groups of friends interactively
o Send and receive instant messages from friends and groups of friends
o Interact with groups of people who share your interests through instant messages and discussion forums

* Maintain your privacy
o Set your own level of privacy to share only the information you are comfortable sharing
o Manage and control everything locally on your PC
o No ad-ware, spy-ware, or other slimy gimmicks from us

Look people,
please! don't fanboy it! please! I don't want an es5 like reputation for the program.
It is a really good program though, and the dev people listen to people's ideas, there's a forum section for posting ideas.

Hmm.

It's a bit too...I don't know, I just prefer ShoutCast/PeerCast. It's too fussy.

I like it but I think you should be able to have a Video Channel so people can stream Videos.

That would rule, but I'm sure not everyone would stick to streaming there own stuff, no comment. I'd only stream stuff the creators wanted streamed, if that doesn't give you a hint, you need to be a better sp fan

The problem with streaming video is some people will abuse this privilage and stream porn. This is a free non age restricted cummunity and that would create many problems. I too would like to be able to stream video because I would do my own home made comedy and stunt skits that I'm sure people would like to see but like I said there is too much room for abuse. Not to mention copyrighted movies and tv shows.

It was hard enough to get the RIAA to ok Mercora legally can you imagine the trouble to get the legal ok from the MPAA to let them stream video??? Maybe one day it might happen but not any time soon. As good as Mercora currently is it still needs a lot of work to fix the issues it already has on it's plate.

Actually Homeya is correct. I speak with the owners of Mercora on a regular basis & know that he is not an administrator just wants to be one. Please if your truely love the Mercora program and it's community don't post false information like this as it tarnishes Mercora's image and you can be giving answer's to people's questions that you don't have the authority to answer or the actuall know how and could be doing more damage than good. You have already been told on the official Mercora forum so please don't do it here too or I will inform Mike, Atri & Sampath and at the moment I haven't and will hope that you correct your post. I'm not trying to be an ass here or to embarras you, you have done that yourself just pointing out that you can not falsly identify yourself and get away with it.
