Please help me decide: Ares vs E-mule vs SoulSeek vs WinMX

I voted emule simply because of all the files available. It's slow, but file availability is high. You always know what you are downloading to through comments and lookups at fake sites.

I don't know if you made this poll to gather knowledge or to make a decision, but I would truthfully go with all 4. Ares is a fast network, but you won't find tons of files. Soulseek is a great network for music and Winmx has a lot of stuff to, but I like it more for the fact that it's like a chat system that plays perfectly into file sharing. I think it makes it kind of fun to share on there.

There really is no comparison. I say they all have their highlights, and depending on what you need, you will find a different one to fit each of those needs. I recommend getting them all and DECIDING FOR YOURSELF.

I personally wouldnt waste my time with winmx, but the other 3 are great. i have all 3 installed, and use 2 of them very frequently.

elaborating on shawners post, why even limit yourself to these 4? there are other good networks out there as well, such as Direct Connect and the infinite Bit Torrent networks, to name a couple.

Choosing only one program/network is like watching only one channel on TV. Its not going to have everything you want.

You gonna have to decide which program that suits you. Some ppl like 1 program while others like another so it is mainly preference. I myself like ares and emule

I personally would waste my time with winmx as its the best network ever. The most wide selection of movies and rare videos you will find anywhere and its only getting better. E-mule is a good choice also. Decide for yourself though by trying them out.

I voted Ares, 'cos I'm a fanboy. In saying that, you can't go wrong with Ares, but a more specialist program may be better suited for your needs.

Ares - bog standard p2p program. Fast, lively and growing, but no special buttons of features.
E-mule - very popular client. Excellent when used in conjuction with a link site. Huge database of files. If you can't find a video file, it probably doesn't exist! No so good for single tracks. Nothing really wrong with it for music, its just that you can do better. Requires a small amount of setting up. You also need to upload for a while to get decent download speeds. Not really a problem in the long term.
Soulseek - strangely no votes so far?! Excellent for rare music. Very strong community. I'd say Ares was better for more popular music, but that is my opinion, not fact.
WinMX - Fanboys put me off this a bit. I know that is hypocritical with the way I talk about Ares, but I don't care. I've never used it for more than a minute.
