    Splitting Video Files

I am in desperate need of a program that will split my video files easily. I have tried about half a dozen and none of them work, either they support a very limited number of formats, or it just does nothing. I have tried AVI chop (Worthless) AVI splitter which is supposed to be very good, but does nothing with my DivX files (even though it is supposed to) I select all of the proper options, output folder etc, yet nothing happens.

Anyone have or know of a program that will allow me to select a file (regardless of format AVI MPEG 1 2 VCD SVCD DivX XViD WMV ETC) choose the output folder and how many segments I want.

I am trying to clear off some of my movies onto CD's but some are too large 900 meg range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I love Discreet Cleaner. I know it handles every type of file that you can throw at it, I just can't remember if it can split instantly or if you have to manually do it. I would check it out though if I were you. I have used it a lot in the past and can safely say it's the best I have used. I would capture tv shows while I was sleeping, then use it to quickly cut out all of the commercials and then save it as a movie.

Also, Monea what do you use? I am at a loss here.

I know, but he mentioned re-encoding so I thought he might not be using the right settings, and the guide explains how to make it so it doesn't rencode anything. So it becomes very straight forward, fast and easy to do.

I split Monty Python & The Holy Grail into 2 files just the other day, whole thing took about 3-4 min. No rencoding of files neccessary.

God Bless you LOL, i am making progress now, But the thing i dont get is, a lot of them say they work with DivX movies, yet they will not show up on the file selection menu, i have to rename the extension.divx.avi for it to work. So far it is working. :)

*EDIT* The program "Easy Video Splitter 2.01 worked like a charm, thank you, you made my day, and saved me a ton of headaches.

Thanks for the help. I had the same problem with my avi files.
