any help would be appreciated
uninstall protowall...reinstall
Actually it's not as easy to do as uninstall/reinstall Miniver.
You have to install the driver, and depending on whether you use a LAN conenction or 56k or something else, and depending on your operating system, it could be different.
Go here: http://www.bluetack.co.uk/pwhelp/ Then at the left go to: How to Use Protowall>Install the Driver
My current setup stats (like anyone cares...):
ASUS A8N32-SLI Motherboard
AMD 4400+ Dual-Core CPU
Windows Vista (Ultimate 32bit)
2 GB (2x1GB) Corsair XMS RAM
2x250 GB (in RAID 0) HDDs
EVGA GeForce 7950 GTX 512 MB
Creative X-FI Fatal1ty XtremeGamer
Also sporting a black MacBook
Revision/Release 1
Upgraded to 2GB RAM.
How did I succeed to install the pw. Huhhh... It was not easy.. I have Win2000.
After several installations... First I renamed the 2000-subfolder where the Driver is located (under Protowall folder), so that once I remove the protowall I can still keep the driver. Then I uninstalled PW and deleted the driver in Networking (not on the drive). Then I reopened networking and installed driver. When you install manually, you have two options. Make sure you choose "ProtoWall_mp.inf" and not "ProtoWall.inf". I am not sure what is the difference, but it made difference in my case. I got several popups that the driver is not signed. Click yes - continue with installation. It may popup about 10 times. Then finish everything and close networking.
Then you go to install the PW but make sure that you uncheck the "install the driver" in the installation box. I am not sure why - but again, it worked in my case...
Protowall running.
:)
Why Protowall? I'm guessing that it's a basic software personal firewall... if so, use Sygate, it's (in my opinion) the best.
How's about them apples?
protowall is NOT a software firewall as such it only blocks ips that you give it to block you need a firewall as well as protowall.Originally Posted by FrozenShadow23
i think found the solution for protowall.sys not loaded. :fire
when you install new service (protowall) don't choose protowall from menu but click on have disk and the choose protowall driver-few clicks and it works :tilted
sounds strange but in my case worked.
i think that windows uses the installation driver if u don't choose other option.
hope it will help u all.
I hope you didn't spend almost 3 months searching for a solution. :goodjobOriginally Posted by dayokezek

:;) no only few hours :;)
please post if it works on the others computers.
Some data about mine:
Win Xp family edition Service Pack 2 (i added protowall to the firewall exceptions list)
Nvidia network driver and realtek wireless card (not used but i put the bridge on everything)
I had the same error. All you have to do is go into network connection and go to properties on the connection you have listed and uninstall protowall. Then add protowall as a service again and use the .sys file in the protowall folder. There are help files available if you can't follow me, just google it and you should have no problem

protowall is pretty cool
Thank goodness this thread came up in a Google search. I had the same error messages... ProtoWall.sys is not loaded... Install the driver then reload this application. On WinXP SP2. After following the quoted instructions (uninstall ProtoWall but keep the driver files... install the _mp.inf driver... reinstall ProtoWall) everything works!Originally Posted by itsmeee
